The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President of Council, David Prosser.

Construction Project Updates

Prospect Avenue Sidewalk Extension

The West Meadows community sign was reinstalled by the Borough and punch list items are completed.

Thank you to the Chester County Department of Community Development for providing the funding source, in the form of a Community Revitalization Program grant.

  • Thank you to the Chester County Department of Community Development for providing the funding source, in the form of a Community Revitalization Program grant.
  • Thank you to our contractor, G&B Construction, for their patience as we worked through some unforeseen circumstances during the project.  The new sidewalk extension, and the additional pedestrian safety it provides in the area, are an outstanding addition to our community!

Evergreen Street & Chatham Road Water Main Replacement

The installation of the section of new Water Main on East Evergreen Street and Chatham Road is completed.

  • Thank you to the State of Pennsylvania for providing funding for the project, in the form of a Covid-19 ARPA PA Small Water and Sewer Program grant.
  • Thank you to our contractor, MOR Construction, for doing an excellent job staying on schedule with the project.
  • No exciting pictures to share as all of this work is below the surface.  What the project does do however, is improve fire safety in the area by adding new fire hydrants and increases the reliability of our public water system.

Thank you to the residents of West Grove Borough and the surrounding areas for their patience in the two construction zones.  Both projects took place on our busiest roadways and work times were restricted to 9am to 3pm in order to minimize disruption.  Progress doesn’t come without a price, and we thank everyone for enduring the traffic delays associated with each project.

Public Safety Update

Fall Clean Up

Options for your lawn waste:

  • Bundling sticks with some type of twine, in manageable size bundles, and placing them at the curb on Thursday’s.  They will be picked up at no cost.
  • Recyclable Yard Waste Bags, purchased at the Municipal Office, filled and placed at the curb on Thursday.  These are also picked up by the Borough at no cost.  If you place bags at the curb that were purchased from a retail store, we charge $1 per bag to collect them.  Do not fill them with dirt or stones.

  • Chipping service is available for larger quantities of brush.  Call the office for a quote, pay, and we send out the crew with the chipper.

  • Public Works will begin Curbside leaf collection on Monday October 26th!!

Recycling Corner – Tip of the Month

Single use plastic bags are the number 1 contaminant of the recycling stream.  These bags should be collected separately and returned to the drop locations at retail stores in the area.

Water Meter Replacement

The Borough is continuing to replace water meters throughout the community.  The new meters being installed have increased technology that allows us to read them without having to enter a resident’s property.  The new meters also have reporting capabilities, that include historical consumption by day and by hour.  This is very effective in helping identify leaks so they can be repaired.
